Mystery Barossa Valley Shiraz 2018
Superbly fruited and perfumed, the bouquet shows black and purple fruit richness with vanilla, spicy oak, olive and floral nuances. It's concentrated and mouthfilling on the palate, delivering awesome fruit intensity and density backed by silky texture and polished tannins, making it delectable and immensely appealing. At its best: now to 2028. Date Tasted: July 2020; Price: $60.00; Rating: 95 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
Mystery McLaren Vale Shiraz 2018
Needs a decant to get the party in this bottle started. Black cherry, both fresh and dried fruits wed to dried herbs, oregano and bay leaf. The McLaren Vale soft tannins are fully expressed here, wed to the dark cherry fruits on the front palate. Rating: 94 Points; Rob Geddes MW
Mystery Yarra Valley Shiraz 2018
The wine was produced from the Estate vineyard in Coldstream that has been planted to the Bests old clone. Having looked at the wines produced from this site over the last few years they continue to grow with vine age and understanding of site. The 2018 is a particularly good release. A vibrant, medium red in colour with a nose that is floral and fruit driven initially, but builds with bracken and savoury nuance before a gentle weave of spice. The palate has weight and presence with dark plum and black cherry that is softened and accentuated by brighter red fruits. Vanillin spice works alongside tannins that are layered with pepper and charcuterie. The length to finish is considerable with a tar and roses like aspect that lingers. Drink to: 2020 - 2040; Closure: Diam; Price: $55.00; Tasted: July 2020; Alcohol: 13.5%; Rating: 96 Points; Patrick Eckel; Wine Reviewer
Mystery Premium Coonawarra Shiraz 2019
Gorgeously expressed and instantly appealing, the wine shows dark and purple fruit richness with vanilla, cake spice, cedar and dark cocoa nuances on the nose. The palate exhibits excellent power and concentration, brilliantly complemented by fleshy texture and silky tannins. Multi- layered and deliciously appealing. At its best: Now to 2034; Closure: Cork; Price: $80.00; Rating: 95 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
