Harewood Estate wines showcase the diverse and spectacular Great Southern region. Based in Denmark, along the coast overlooking the Southern Ocean, the estate vineyards cover two sites off Scotsdale Road north of the town: the original Harewood vineyard and the recently acquired Apricus Hill.

A brilliant, exceptionally pale straw colour with youthful green tinges. The wine exhibits intense floral and citrus with hints of passionfruit enhanced by an underlying spicy lift.

The fruit here is sourced from a single vineyard in the Frankland River sub-region of the Great Southern district in Western Australia. Only free run juice is used, with a cool fermentation in stainless steel. Pale lemon/lime green in colour, this is a classic Riesling, pristine, taut, poised and with serious length. The nose reveals aromas of florals, wet slate, limes, grapefruit, lemon blossoms and a flick of honeycomb on the finish. There is zesty acidity throughout. This is really impressive and should provide immense pleasure over the next twelve to fifteen years. Drink to: 2026-2040; Price: $35.00; Rating: 95 Points; Ken Gargett

Wholly sourced from the Swinney vineyard here in Frankland River, and the wine is tightly coiled and compressed, with a pure seam of acidity that runs down the middle of the wine like a fault line. This is classically made so the complexity on show here is derived from the fruit and not the winemaking. This brings a sense of purity and focus to the wine that I really appreciate. The wine feels plump through the middle palate, and it has a lychee/elderflower character that is very pretty. This is a lovely wine and a wine for the future. It will be long lived. Drink to: 2039; Date Tasted: June 2025; Alcohol: 12%; Rating: 93+ Points; Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
