Hastwell & Lightfoot was started in 1988 by Mark & Wendy Hastwell and their mates Martin and Jill Lightfoot (retired). Together, these two families planted the first Hastwell & Lightfoot vineyards in the deep sandy slopes of Foggo Road.

This limited-edition Reserve Shiraz, sourced exclusively from the esteemed Sands Vineyard on the Hastwell & Lightfoot estate, has been aged with a masterful blend of French and American oak. This is a most stylish wine from this very good vintage. It's from McLaren Vale and has received a combination of American and French oak. The red fruits of shiraz are sprinkled with a mix of sage and other dried herbs while a little leafy character sits in the background. A near opaque maroon hue here, this wine has an utterly gorgeous nose, so beautifully aromatic. Ripe with chocolate notes and a hint of bitter almond right at the finish. Black fruits, cloves, mulberries and mocha. There is good length and fine tannins, even a hint of vegemite evident. A wine with persistence to drink over the next eight to ten years.
