The family owned Penley Estate has gone through a rebirth in recent times. New wine maker Kate Goodman has introduced a far more contemporary style of wine making, partnered with well respected viticulturist David Paxton tending to the estate vineyards. A quiet revolution taking place with wines now produced from outside of Coonawarra.

62/38% shiraz/cabernet. Fermented wild before spending 18 months in French oak, 40% new. Olives, herbs, blackcurrant and cedar. The flavours are one thing but it's the flow, the command, ands the authoritative push of the finish. This is top-shelf gear. Bacon-esque oak adds a final flourish to a beautifully pitched (and structured) red wine.
