Moppity Vineyards is located in Young, within the Hilltops wine region. The 170 acre vineyard sits at the highest elevation in the Hilltops and the 37 year old vines are among the oldest in the region. Since acquiring the vineyard in 2004, Jason and Alecia Brown have focused on producing medium-bodied wines that reflect the unique conditions of this high-altitude, cool-climate region.
Bright and lively, opening with green apple, lemon zest and white peach layered with subtle brioche and citrus blossom. The fruit profile is vibrant and youthful, carrying excellent freshness and immediate appeal. The palate is medium bodied with a fine, persistent mousse and crisp acidity. Flavours of apple, pear and citrus glide across the palate before subtle pastry notes emerge through the mid-palate. The finish is clean, refreshing and energetic with excellent balance and drinkability. Rating: 95 Points; Vino Masters
There's a keen hit of grapefruit-like flavour here which then kicks the wine straight into yeast, cooked apple and baked pastry notes. This wine is as convincing as it is enjoyable. The bead is fine, there's a glide of strawberry flavours over the top, and the finish sails on appreciably. This is an excellent sparkling wine. Date Tasted: June 2026; Alcohol: 12.0%; Price: $35.00; Rating: 93 Points; Campbell Mattinson
