The winegrowing farm Piero Benevelli, situated in Monforte d’Alba in the heart of the Barolo Langa, is composed by around 8 hectares of vineyards, from which approximately 40.000 bottles of wine are produced. This quantity allows us to maintain a family management of the Company, from the work in the estates to the winery. The estate is a committed to preserve the traditions and not abandon the teachings of those who came before them, at the same time supplement this knowledge with the use of modern technologies.
This Langhe Nebbiolo offers a fragrant and perfumed expression of Nebbiolo from Monforte. For Langhe Nebbiolo this is seriously structured with complexity that is not normally seen at this price point.
Red fruit, cherries, almonds, a little rosy perfume along with baking spice and new leather. It’s medium-bodied, juicy red fruits and tobacco, plush cocoa powder tannin does most of the structural work, given the acidity is kind of soft and unobtrusive, and the finish is firm and dustily tannic, with a twist of orange peel. Very good, kind of belies the hot vintage, given how pretty and red fruited it is, albeit you notice the acidity is little more low key. Lovely wine. As ever.
