The history of the Chionetti family has been linked to the vine from the 19th century. The turning point came in 1912 when Giuseppe Chionetti bought the farm in a suitable area for vineyards in San Luigi in the town of Dogliani. Starting from this moment the Chionetti family linked it own name with the dolcetto wine they were selling to the biggest traders of the area.

Briccolero originates from the vineyards on the south-east side of the estate, within the San Luigi cru in the municipality of Dogliani.

100% Dolcetto

The 2015 Dogliani Briccolero is superb and also one of the wines of the vintage. Rich, ample and generous on the palate, the 2015 exudes richness from start to finish. A host of super-ripe blue fruits, crème de cassis, lavender, menthol and dark spices are infused in this unctuous, deep Dogliani. All the elements meld together effortlessly. The 2015 can be enjoyed now, but it also has the depth and pedigree to age for a number of years. Date: Aug 2016; Rating: 93 Points; Antonio Galloni; Vinous

Though plush in texture and concentrated, this red is also lively, evoking blackberry, black currant, violet and tobacco flavors. Stays sleek and focused through the finish, echoing fruit and spice elements. Drink now through 2020. Rating: 92 Points; Bruce SandersonWine Spectator
