Yarra Valley pioneers, the de Pury family are renowned for wines of finesse and elegance that epitomise the finest the region can produce. Produced from some of the oldest vines in the valley, these are long-lived wines made in tiny quantities. Yeringberg makes wines from the low-yielding vines re-established on the heart of what was one of the most famous vineyards of the nineteenth century.
From vines planted in '99; contains less than 3% marsanne/roussanne/viognier. A bright crimson red. Elegant and perfumed with its aromas of spiced red cherries, raspberries and white and black pepper together with a touch of violets. It's a little more approachable than the '22 at the same age, with silken and persistent tannins rounding out a beautifully balanced wine to drink now and over the next seven to 10 years. Date: Feb 2025; Alcohol: 13.5%; Price: $115.00; Drink by: 2035; Rating: 95 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion
Subtle aromas of plums, dark cherries, cured meat, wet earth, violets and spices. The palate is medium-bodied with superfine tannins, bright acidity and a soft and seamless finish. Such a lovely mid-weight shiraz with a nice aromatic lift. Drink or hold. Date: Mar 2025; Rating: 94 Points; James Suckling
