Hoddles Creek Estate was established in 1997 when the D'Anna family decided to establish a vineyard on the property that has been in the family since 1960. The vineyard sits astride Gembrook road and adjacent Hoddles Creek.
This is tight, minority flinty, soft-textured, well-fruited and lively with acidity. It’s a ripper wine but, at the same time, it’s a wine for enthusiasts; it’s a touch jaunty, in a good way mostly but I suspect that the horses would scatter if you served it at the wrong farm. Preserved citrus, white peach, bran and Meyer lemon. Extra bottle time will do this wine a world of good. Even now though it’s very good, and pretty amazing value. Date: Oct 2025; Alcohol: 13%; Price: $20; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2027-2032; Rated: 92 Points; Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front
