Establishing Santarossa Vineyards and Sea Glass Wines with his family has been the realisation of a long held dream for Andrew Santarossa.  Adopting old world principles, Andrew then applies new world innovation to capture wine as the most honest, purest expression of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Mornington Peninsula.

The more you love that whole berry character, the more you'll love this wine. We have roast meats and flesh here, touches of leather. This is very much in the secondary style, avoiding simple primary notes. The wine is juicy, with focus, length and intensity with a supple texture and a slight bitter almond character to be found at the finish. This excellent Pinot Noir hails from the Mornington Peninsula. A dine mix of spices and cherry on the nose with a subtle clove and vanilla bean combo. The palate is still quite tightly wound but beautifully structured with a firm core of oak and tannin. The fruit is held in reserve but it will gradually emerge with further ageing. It's beautifully fragrant on the nose with sweet cherry, violet, dried herb and subtle spice aromas, leading to a finely textured palate that's delightfully ripe and rounded. A medium red in terms of the colour with dark cherry having some autumnal notes as well as understated brown spice from time in oak. The palate is textural, savoury and more about undergrowth than primary ripe fruits; the fruit is certainly there but more black than red cherry and is tightly bound in its expression.
