Bleasdale Vineyards is Langhorne Creek's founding winery and Australia's second oldest family-owned and operated winery, established in 1850 by English migrant Frank Potts, who arrived in South Australia on the Buffalo in 1836.  The vineyards are situated on the flood plains of the Bremer river. Frank Potts left behind him a wonderful legacy that continues today. His sons and grandsons have operated and built up the winery, and Bleasdale is solely owned and operated by fourth- and fifth-generation members of the Potts family.

Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris grapes are handpicked and whole bunch pressed, before a 30 minute drive by our specialist growers to Bleasdale’s cellars in Langhorne Creek. This delicate wine shows all the spice and perfume we expect from cool climate Pinot Gris. Nashi, ginger and rosewater perfume leads to a rich and textured palate with nutty complexity from the barrel ferment component, finishing crisp, fresh and balanced. A cool flowering period and mild growing season has led to intense crops with good natural acidity.

95 Points & Gold Medal - Royal Melbourne Wine Show 2023

OK, OK, I'm giving lots of points to a pinot gris. BUT, it's from the Adelaide Hills and it's made by Paul Hotker, who piloted Bleasdale to Wine Companion Winery of the Year for 2024. It even has a barrel ferment component. It's a new deal in refreshment. Date: Sept 2023; Alcohol: 13%; Price: $24.00; Drink by: 2027; Rating: 95 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
