Mystery Museum Release Bendigo Shiraz 2007
While frost reduced yields to an insane 20 tonnes for the entire 70 acres, there's no doubting the quality of fruit in this museum release. Aged 18 months in 30% new French barrique and since then gracefully developing more complex flavours. In excellent condition, thanks in part to the screwcap, its deep, dark-garnet hue belying its age, everything beautifully sewn together, the tannins, acidity, the fruit just a hint of black licorice and unctuous aged balsamic. Pitch-perfect now but still plenty of life ahead of it. Date: Jan 2018; Alcohol: 14.5%; Drink by: 2027; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion

Mystery Premium Margaret River Shiraz 2022
A cleverly made shiraz that reveals what this variety can deliver in Margaret River. It’s co-fermented with a small amount of spicy viognier and then gets a little carbonic maceration, both of which contribute to its perfumed aromas and bright palate. It then gets 17 months in a mix of French and American oak. Velvety smooth palate, yet there is power here driving a sustained finish. An effortless wine of class. Drink to: 2024-2036; Price: $100.00; Rating: 96 Points; Ray Jordan

Mystery Premium Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021
Comes off some pretty old, ungrafted Barossa vines. It's a most elegant and refined wine that shows another side of the Barossa. Largely traditional winemaking with gentle crushing, fermentation in open vats for three weeks and then pressing to Fresh barriques for 15 months. Has a lovely spicy perfume on the nose with races of red berry and light cedar. The palate is almost medium weight in that it is so effortless and stylish. Extends with ease to an exceptionally long finish. Wonderful expression of the Barossa. Drink to: 2024-2042; Price: $90.00; Rating: 97 Points; Ray Jordan

Mystery Super Premium McLaren Vale Shiraz 2017
Hand picked across a vineyard that is a century and a quarter old. The tannins here are increasingly refined and tautly furled by apposite extraction and long maturation in high-quality French oak. Violet lift. Further scents of blueberry, mulberry, clove, pepper grind and nori. The cedar and mocha-laden tension across the finish is this rich wine's totem. Oak, of course, but seamlessly handled, while auguring well for a long unravelling during extended time in the cellar. Drink to: 2032; Price: $153.00; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 95 Points; Ned Goodwin MW; James Halliday Wine Companion
