Established in 1998 Hewitson winery is situated in the heart of the Barossa Valley on the historic Seppeltsfield Road and boasts some of the oldest vines in the World. Our fruit is sourced from these dry-grown, pre-Phylloxera vineyards of the Barossa Valley and also single site vineyards in Eden Valley, McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. We believe great wines are the expression of the soils they are grown in and in the seasons they grow. Through knowledge and experience we strive for balance, structure, concentration, power and breeding.

Devastating October hail destroyed some Eden Valley vineyards, but those that escaped were blessed with superb late/prolonged summer. Wines such as this are full to the brim with juicy lime and lemon fruit balanced by crisp acidity. Lovely vintage, saved from the jaws of hell. Drink to: 2032; Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 95 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion

There are lemon, lime and floral aromas, and it’s intense and refined at the same moment, with great drive on a focused middle palate. The finish is very long and seamless, with lovely balance which delivers ready drinking qualities as well as ageworthiness. A straight down the line style, and very good. Drink: to 2034; Price: $30.00; Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 94 Points & Top Rank; Huon Hooke; The Real Review;
