The Japanese wine company of Grace was established in the year 1953 by the third generation Kazuo Misawa family member. The seeds for this company were sown in 1923 when the Chotaro Inzai Wine Company was launched in Katsunuma-Cho. There was no looking back for the company since the 1950s. It grew from strength to strength, and today it has become the most popular Japanese wines in the world.

Grown at 700 metres above sea level, matured in mostly old French oak. Matchstick, pear, peach and lime, plenty of fresh cut ginger and spice, with some caramel richness. It’s bright and spicy, more of that ginger and struck match, grapefruit and lime zest, spicy biscuit, fresh pineapple with a butter toffee richness, flinty texture, a juicy and tangy cinnamon dusted finish of excellent length. Quite intense, a little more tropical in flavour than is normal for this wine, but still very good. Date: Nov 2023; Alcohol: 13%; Price: $190; Closure: Cork: 2023-2028+; Rated: 94 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
