Domaine Dujac in Burgundy was acquired by Jacques Seysses in 1967. The domaine in Morey-St-Denis had 4 hectares of vineyards and he has subsequently built it up to 11.5 hectares. Domaine Dujac now includes holdings in Clos de la Roche, Clos St-Denis, Bonnes-Mares, Echézeaux and Charmes-Chambertin . "Use knowledge and technology to counter accidents - for example, bad weather - but, if all is going well, don't interfere," says Seysses and this principle guides much of what happens in the vineyards and the cellars. Dujac wines are neither filtered nor fined and all of his premiers and grands crus are aged in 100% new oak. These are wines of the very highest order.

An exuberantly spicy nose of exotic jasmine tea, dried orange peel, black cherry, plum and soft wood precedes lilting and ultra-fine flavors that retain excellent precision on the powerful finish that tightens up markedly on the firm, long and very serious finale. Despite not being a monster of concentration, this is also clearly going to need time in bottle to realize its considerable potential. Date: Jan 2025; Drink: 2038++; Rating 93-95 Points; Allen Meadows; Burghound

Almost 100% whole bunch vinification for the Echezeaux. A beautiful vivid ruby purple. The nose is deliciously perfumed, a wine very much at ease with itself. Equally gracious on the palate, delivering a silky red fruit with refined tannins, and excellent persistence. Jeremy notes that they only really began to discover the hoped for silkiness in the Echezeaux after conversion to biodynamic farming – which for this vineyard began in 2001. Date: Nov 2024; Drink: 2032-2042; Rating: 96-98 Points, Jasper Morris; Inside Burgundy

The 2023 Echézeaux Grand Cru offers more red berry fruit laced with briar, touches of tobacco and just a faint touch of Wellington boot from the reduction. It has fine delineation and focus. The palate is mediumbodied with svelte tannins and a keen line of acidity. It's quite structured on the back end, perhaps not manifesting the same complexity as the 2022, but it is a masterclass in restraint and poise. Date: Nov 2024; Drink: 2027 - 2048; Rating: 92-94 Points; Neal Martin; Vinous

The 2023 Echezeaux Grand Cru is one of the bigger, more exuberant wines in the cellar, bursting with aromas of smoky plums, smoked duck, spices and orange zest. Full-bodied, broad and fleshy, it's layered and concentrated, with a long, saline finish. Date: Jan 2025; Rating: 93-95 Points; William Kelley; Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate
