Originating from Italy the De Iuliis family have made the Hunter region their home since 1960. After a long successful career in the Hunter mining industry, Joss and Anna De Iuliis were inspired to follow their family passion for wine and chose a property in the Lovedale Road region of the Lower Hunter Valley, converting a grazing property into a 20ha vineyard with the first vines planted in 1990. For the first decade they provided fruit for some of the Hunter Valley’s biggest names.

The Single Vineyard range reveals the unique character of the Hunter Valley’s finest vineyards. Produced in smallquantities and only in exceptional vintages, the wines are brought to life using modern viticultural and winemaking techniques.

The fruit came from the family vineyard, hand picked and whole-bunch pressed for a slow, cool ferment. The bouquet is complexed with hints of honey and beeswax, the palate building on that as it enters the first stage of maturity with Meyer lemon, honeycomb and spice. Utterly seductive, but has decades of life left in the tank. Date: Sept 2023; Alcohol: 11%; Price: $50.00; Drink by: 2038; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
