Just over 20 years ago, Claymore Wines was humbly established with small volumes of Grenache and Riesling from a single vineyard in Penwortham. Since then, the estate has grown to include additional varietals and 44 hectares across three additional vineyards in Watervale.

Made from a blend of parcels drawn from our three Riesling sites, this wine is crafted using only free run juice and cool fermentation. It once again delivers a classic Watervale Rizza with that forward fruit lift and delicate floral elements.

Some of the vines used for this very youthful but delightfully fresh Riesling from the Watervale sub-region date back to the 1930s. Pale lemon in colour, this is beautifully perfumed, with notes of lemon curd, spices, florals and grapefruit. A fine line of minerals and riverstones in the background as support. Watervale sourced, brimming with all its regional character and freshly unleashed energy. Fantastic lemon and lime crush – juice and zest, makrut lime leaf as well – with a distinctive lavender like perfume. The lemons drive the palate at first, acidity lively up front, tapering to a more restrained zing in the finish, leaving more of a white pepper spice note to linger in the exit, that perfume reverberating as you lower the glass.
