Blue Pyrenees were established through a no expense spared approach, by two of the wine world's most revered, accomplished and resourced estates. A superior standard of viticulture and exacting vinification techniques were the priority, they remain at the very core of the Blue Pyrenees raison d'ĂȘtre. An assemblage of exclusively estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Malbec and Shiraz, artfully crafted into a seamless style of vigorously perfumed fruit, finely polished tannins and fragrant, flattering oak.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Svelte, crisp, medium-bodied Cabernet offering blackcurrant, dark raspberry, a little liquorice, mint and some gum leaf. Tannin is firm and gently grainy, some black olive savoury things in the mix, and a fresh finish of excellent length. Quite a firm wine, yet refreshing, and likely a solid bet for extended cellaring. Tasted: March 2022; Alcohol: 14.5%; Price: $44; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2023-2038; Rated: 94 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front

Deep, bright red/purple colour, with aromas of spices and balsamic herbs, red and darker fruits, even a suggestion of Campari. The wine is full-bodied but also elegant at the same time, oak sensitively employed, the flavour driven by the fruit and deliciously multi-faceted, even at this tender age. A most impressive wine, long finishing and elegantly formed. This is a wine whose maturation will be worth watching. Date Tasted: April 2021; Drink: 2021 to 2033; Price: $44.00; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 93 Points; Huon Hooke; The Real Review
