ALOFT takes inspiration from the Lofty Adelaide Hills – hitting the heights of wine without hitting your hip pocket. They are fun, uncomplicated, drink anywhere anytime with anyone.
Pale golden with the slightest orange hue. Fresh and lively on the palate, it somehow manages to conjure the feeling of ancient gum trees and the rolling Adelaide Hills in spring; birds chirping, bees buzzing. Zesty pear, green apple and peach flavours sit over taut acidity, while a lovely texture keeps everything in check. If this landed on the table in a restaurant it wouldn’t last long. Plenty of class on show here. Good sourcing – grown high and cool at 360m in the Adelaide Hills – and quality winemaking combine to deliver a wine of some presence in the glass. Light blush in colour and lifted in delightful honeysuckle, orange blossom aromatic aromas with gentle citrus, Asian pear, apple. Fleshy in texture, deep in flavour, aromatic with hints of the exotic and savoury, there is an inner fruit strength to this wine wound around green almond, citrus zest, tangerine skin pulp and a light almost peppery spice. Runs long, runs super delicious. Date: Aug 2026; Drink by: 2026-2032; Price: $25.00; Rating: 94 Points; Wine Pilot; Jeni Port
There's a pale pink tinge to the colour of this Adelaide Hills pinot gris, which is always good. Punchy flavour, some texture, and good length. This pinot gris is in a good spot. It tastes of nashi pears and crisp green-and-red apples, mostly, and it all pushes through to a finish that sports a gentle tonic-like edge. It's good. It carries sound, appealing flavour. And it keeps going, in a mouthwatering way, through the finish. Date Tasted: August 2026; Alcohol: 12%; Price: $25.00; Rating: 92 Points; Campbell Mattinson
