Cowpunk are small batch wines made from single sites, crafted by award winning winemaker Aaron Mercer. Organic, vegan, preservative free, and with no additions these are wines of real interest and great drinkability.
Sourced from a 20-year-old organic vineyard in Canowindra, NSW. Classic hands off winemaking has resulted a Pinot Gris in the Orange style. Once pressed, a third of the organic Pinot Gris juice sat on skins for 7 days to aid colour and texture. The wine was then de-juiced and fermented with no additions.
Deeply aromatic with a fine floral drive this wine is imbued with notes of blood orange, musk and other rich, fruit flavours. On the palate it has grip and delicacy with lovely mouth-filling textures complemented by notes of amaro and hints of Campari.
