Gosh, this is an excellent Chardonnay from the Yarra Valley, sourced from a single vineyard. Aromas of oak and cereal with traces of butterscotch and nougat; there's even a hint of cardamon seed in here. The palate is beautifully textured with a fruit intensity that's presented with elegance and poise leading to a rich and very long palate profile. Love it. The region's ability to be the 'jack of all trades' when it comes to wine styles, sometimes causes us to forget just how spectacular Chardonnay from the region can be, and that it can happily sit alongside the best in the land, and this is an utterly delicious Yarra Chardonnay. Deep yellow in colour, there is a coiled, brooding power here, with notes of melons, citrus, oatmeal, apricot kernels and nuts. It is tight, concentrated and with a beguiling creamy texture and delightful supple palate. There is a fine line of acidity driving the wine which offers a lingering finish, with power and intensity.
