Yangarra Estate is a biodynamic wine farm in the McLaren Vale region in South Australia. The Yangarra philosophy centres around producing wines solely from its single-vineyard estate and the property is devoted to the best grape varieties of the southern Rhone. Yangarra's combination of rare geologies, moderate altitude, abundant sunshine and cool evening breezes make it perfect for growing varieties that thrive in these moderate maritime environments.
100% Shiraz from estate vineyard adopts more of a cooler climate expression than the typical McLaren Vale style thanks to the vineyard’s elevation and cooling night breezes from the nearby Southern Lofty Ranges, but retains concentration and complexity. Estate grown in Kangarilla.
Perfumed and spicy, showing aromas of wild blackberries, licorice, olive brine, boysenberries, bresaola and dark chocolate. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with finely tuned tannins and generous texture, leading into a saline-edged finish full of purity and freshness. Lovely lift beneath the dark fruit. Drink or hold. Screw cap. Date: Jan 2026; Rating: 95 Points; James Suckling
