Since 1952 Schild hands have tended to a selection of Barossa Valley’s most treasured and rare vines, some amongst the oldest in the world. The wisdom passed down through the generations ensures each vineyard’s unique terroir is expressed in their premium collection of wines.

Powerful and captivating, the bouquet displays concentrated aromas of blackberry, blueberry and dark plum layered with liquorice, dark chocolate, cedar spice and subtle hints of espresso. The palate is full-bodied and luxuriously textured with dense black fruit supported by fine-grained tannins and exceptional balance. An outstanding Barossa Shiraz offering remarkable concentration and lasting complexity. Rated: 96 Points; Vino Masters

There's a real creaminess that I like here. It's not an oak creaminess, more so a plum and blueberry cream with underlying hints of dark-chocolate-dipped cherries, blackforest cake, vanillin oak, panforte, olive tapenade, violets and earth. Luscious and mouth-filling with fine tannins and a velvety flow at the back end. It's a lovely contemporary Barossa shiraz. Starts with an engaging aroma of blackberry, dark chocolate and allspice. The sumptuous palate is bright and vibrant with tremendous juicy ripe fruits on display. The slightly chewy chalky tannins sit perfectly while the mix of oak has been precisely chosen. Excellent wine. Tasted: May 2024; Drink to: 2024-2034; Price: $40.00; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 94 Points; Ray Jordan
