The Rosenvale Vineyards story begins in the province of Prussia in 1850 when Gottfried and Johanna Rosenzweig immigrated to Australia fleeing a life of poverty. They settled in the small Barossa Valley village of Moculta in 1858. Like their fellow German countrymen, the Rosenzweigs brought to the Barossa a deep attachment and love of the land. This passion for the land has seen six family generations continuously farm the soils of the Barossa.

Fresh cherry, sweet herbs, liquor plum make their way from the glass inviting one to sample.  Plums, cherries, cloves, dark berries, licorice all come to mind wrapped in silky tannin with balance. Greeted by a hint of dark chocolate on the finish and slightly drying.

Combining sweet fruit richness with a savoury undertone, this gorgeously styled red shows blackcurrant, smoked game, bay leaf, cedar and pepper spice notes on the nose, leading to a sumptuous palate that's generous and lingering. Bold and opulent with terrific fruit power and textured mouthfeel. Now to 2030; Price: $35.00; Rating: 94 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
