Ninth Island wines are produced by Kreglinger Wine Estates at their Pipers Brook winery in Northern Tasmania. The estate grown and produced wines are made from fruit sourced from Estate owned vineyards in the Pipers Brook and Tamar Valley regions of Tasmania. The wine is named after a small island in Bass Strait opposite the Pipers River Vineyard's. The small island covering around 32 hectares is a wildlife refuge for penguins and the occasional seal and of course there are no vineyards there.

Ninth Island Riesling showcases our cool climate vineyard sites in the North of Tasmania. Perfumed and floral with aromas of citrus blossom, jasmine and kaffir lime. Fresh juicy citrus flavours of meyer lemon and lime with fine natural acidity and delicate minerality. Seamless balance, mouth-watering tension, and lasting intensity.

Brief skin contact and a cool, slow fermentation. The cool, humid north of Tasmania produces a more exotic riesling than the south, exemplified here in frangipane, Linden blossom and guava. A core of lemon and lime is backed by cool Piper's River acidity, well softened by white nectarine succulence. Fresh, fruity and ready. Drink to: 2022; Price: $25.00; Alcohol: 12%; Rating: 90 Points; Tyson Stelzer; James Halliday Wine Companion
