Mystery Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
This classic Margaret River Cabernet bursts with blackcurrant, cassis, bay leaf and graphite, supported by fine, well-integrated oak. Mystery Super Premium Tasmanian Pinot Noir 2022
Pinot noir sourced from the Coal River and Derwent valleys in Tasmania and the Upper Yarra Valley in Victoria. Bright ruby with ripe dark and red cherry fruits, raspberry coulis and wild strawberry with hints of leaf litter, spice, softly spoken vanillin oak, char siu, mushroom broth, amaro herbs and wildflowers. Graceful and pure with excellent tension between fruit and minerally acidity, fading off slowly in a fan of spiced red fruits. Mystery Premium Margaret River Chardonnay 2023
This super premium wine was introduced a few years ago and it hasn’t looked back since. I think this is the best of them yet, which is not surprising given the quality of the 2023 vintage. It’s 50% Gingin clone with the remainder clones 95.96 and 76 from their own roots. Pressed straight to oak with full solids and wild fermentation designed to generate the complexity and richness that is establishing a style after just a few vintages. It got 10 months in oak of which 1/3 was new. So it’s not overdone with oak. IT has an engaging minerally savoury character on the nose. The palate is creamy and rich, but the alternative clones bring a fine linear feel. Waxy honeycomb and brioche add complex notes. The finish is long and powerfully sustained. Medium deep crimson. A classical Barossa Shiraz with dark plum, black cherry dark chocolate, liquorice aromas and underlying marzipan notes. Well concentrated and richly flavoured with voluminous choco-berry flavours, fine loose knit chocolatey tannins, integrated marzipan / vanilla oak notes. The '22 Eos is matured in 40% new French oak from a mix of coopers.
