Maverick Wines was established in 2004. The objective was and is to be one of the top premium boutique wineries in Australia. Although the company is young, Maverick owns 75 acres of vineyards from the top terroirs across the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. Approximately half of the vines are over 100 years old, and many much older.

Offering classic cabernet fragrance and structure as well as power and richness, this magnificent red shows cassis, dark plum, tobacco, cedary oak and warm spice notes on the nose, leading to a wonderfully concentrated palate that weighty and expansive. The wine is superbly framed by fine grainy tannins, making it sturdy yet gratifyingly comforting. Rating: 96 Points; Sam Kim - Wine Orbit

This is the business established by highly experienced vigneron Ronald Brown. It has evolved, now with seven vineyards across the Barossa and Eden valleys, all transitioned into biodynamic grape production. The vines range from 40 to almost 150 years old, underpinning the consistency and quality of the wines. Hand-picked, 24 hours cold soak, small open fermenters, pressed to new French oak for 22 months, only 4 barriques made. A very high quality wine, beautiful line, length and balance. Drink to: 2047; Alcohol: 14%; Closure: Diam; Rating: 97 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday; Wine Companion
