The Magarey Lane vineyard, planted in 1989, has supplied grapes to many famous brands such as Reschke, and over the past 30 years, the largely unirrigated vines have matured and are producing wonderfully ripe and concentrated wines.

When you let it breathe for a little while, the real beauty of this wine emerges with those ripe plummy notes. Rich, juicy blackberry and a wonderful expression on the palate all come together to provide a wine that is quite luscious and plush, offering tremendous richness and concentration, but all supremely balanced. Wonderfully fruited and gorgeously expressed, showing dark fruit richness, fragrant spice, toasty oak, and dark chocolate aromas on the nose. The palate is superbly weighted and plump, delivering a plush texture and layers of polished tannins, making it splendidly structured with a persistent, sumptuous finish. Under Diam, this is a serious Shiraz from the Coonawarra region. Deep maroon in colour, there are lashings of chocolate here. Plenty of oak as well, which has been well handled, we also have aromas weaving through cassis, blackcurrants, dark plums, mocha and coffee beans. Softly textured, this is generous and very approachable, with a lingering finish exhibiting satiny tannins. It should continue to appeal over the next ten to fifteen years.
