The late Jim Barry was a pioneer of the Australian wine industry. Today the company is headed by Jim's second son Peter. Jim Barry Wines produces their estate wines from family owned vineyards in the Clare Valley and Coonawarra. The Amragh Shiraz, with The McRae Wood Shiraz, The Benbournie Cabernet Sauvignon and the Florita Riesling are the super premium wines of the portfolio.
Jim Barry purchased the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977, as he was sure it would “produce some of the best Riesling in Clare. Situated on the eastern ranges of the township of Clare, it is one of the highest vineyards in the Valley at an altitude of 480 metres, and is ideal for producing steely, minerally Rieslings, distinctive to the area.

Palest of lemon hues, water-white at the rim. Lime curd, pastry and quartz aromas. A delightful palate with sweet lime notes, white flowers and a sense of seaspray minerality. Lots of complexity yet all seamless and flowing with great length. It remains balanced and poised right to the fine, lingering finish. Amazing value.
