The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Ignoring fashion and braving the scorn  “wine thought police” Elephant in the Room was created to give consumers exactly what they want – full bodied and mouth-filling wines that deliver maximum pleasure. Each wine is sourced from slow-ripening cool climate vineyards in the Limestone Coast of South Australia and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling by Corey Ryan.

Sourced from a selection of mature, dry-grown vineyards in Langhorne Creek managed by Jim Zerella. The fruit is partially hand-harvested before de-stemming and cool fermentation in small two tonne open fermenters with regular hand plunging. Matured in seasoned French oak (20% new French) for six months before bottling with minimal filtration and sulphur addition.

Dark purple colour with lifted notes of red berry and blackcurrants framed by violet overtones and subtle cedarwood spice. The palate is dense and plush with flavours of blood plum, blueberry and spice with a supple, slippery mouthfeel framed by subtle oak toast and fine tannins.  A generous wine, packed full of flavour that is ready to drink now or will cellar for up to 10 years.
