Recognised as one of the Margaret River Great Estates, this winery is situated on the southern end of the peninsula. The fruit for the Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced predominantly from Wilyabrup in the north of Margaret River, where the warmer influence of the Indian Ocean produces elegant and beautifully ripe fruit with silky-fine tannins. The 2012 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Devil's Lair Cabernet Sauvignon gains complexity from the terroir of individual vineyards and the winemakers handle and blend each batch of fruit to make a wine that best represents the Devil's Lair style. Ruby with Garnet Hues. Instantly Cabernet. Instantly Margaret river. Complex and layered with lively aromas of berries, black olive and subtle oak characters. Silky fine tannins giving hallmark Cabernet structure compliment the fruit and the complex oak aromas.

The mid-weighted palate is finely tuned with beautiful, shapely tannins and acidity stretching out to a lingering finish. Devil's Lair is on a roll, get onboard. Although, bittersweet as I wish the wonderful Simon Robertson (who passed in 2024), its long-time viticulturist could have witnessed the success of this wine.
