Clarence House was built in 1830 at Clarence Plains, Mt Rumney, just north of Hobart in Southern Tasmania. In 2014 a small batch of Pinot Noir from the oldest vines was vinified by Anna Pooley at Pooley Wines who are located just a few minutes north at Richmond. The results were extremely encouraging and from 2015 all Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines have been made at Pooley Wines.
Deep saturated colour. Captivating aromas of raspberry, dried flowers, spice-cake, soy and loam. Plump, seamless and sweet, with wonderful inner-mouth perfume of floral oils and potpourri. Impressive volume here. Finishes impressively long, with lush tannins.
