Bleasdale Vineyards is Langhorne Creek's founding winery and Australia's second oldest family-owned and operated winery, established in 1850 by English migrant Frank Potts, who arrived in South Australia on the Buffalo in 1836.  The vineyards are situated on the flood plains of the Bremer river. Frank Potts left behind him a wonderful legacy that continues today. His sons and grandsons have operated and built up the winery, and Bleasdale is solely owned and operated by fourth- and fifth-generation members of the Potts family.

The Adelaide Hills is renowned for high quality cool-climate Chardonnay. Careful fruit selection and attentive winemaking give a fresh-fruited wine with some nutty complexity and interest from lees contact. 'Granny Smith' acidity and almond biscotti flavours harmoniously combining into a delicious drink

The base wines (100% chardonnay) came from 2020 to ’22, grown at Lobethal and Kuitpo; wild-yeast ferments of full-juice solids in tank and seasoned puncheons. The result is a complex, textured wine not made by the traditional method. Date: Nov 2022; Alcohol: 12%; Price: $30.00; Rating: 94 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
