Delightfully charming & inviting, the bouquet shows green pear, apricot, lemon zest & floral aromas, leading to a juicy palate displaying elegant weight & fine flow. Brilliantly structured by bright acidity, finishing lingering & mouth-watering. At i ts best: now to 2026. Rating: 93 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
From the high altitude, cooler climate vineyards at Tumbarumba, the team at Allegiance has picked Pinot Gris/Grigio fruit from the same 5.5 hectare vineyard and made wines in the two styles – Gris and Grigio. Fascinating stuff for wine geeks, but for those just interested in a good drink, now you have two options rather than one. This version, free run juice only, spent two months on its lees. A deep yellow gold. The aromas are delightfully lifted with pears and citrus notes to the fore with a fine minerally backing. Florals weave in and out and there is even a hint of beeswax, all showing good intensity and a deceptively long finish with the slightest hint of a nutty character right on the finish. Drink over the next two to three years. Date: March 2023; Price: $30.00; Drink: 2023-2026; Rating: 92 Points; Ken Gargett; WinePilot
