Zonte’s Footstep is a proudly independent Australian wine producer established in 2003. Named after the house-cooling breeze of the ‘Lake Doctor’. These winds arrive from the Great Southern Ocean direct from Antarctica, reviving the vines and vignerons alike in the peak of summer heat.
Here's a Shiraz that captures all that is good in Langhorne Creek. There's the soft drinkability and flavour that you come to expect. It's medium-bodied, but with plenty of depth and fruit intensity, with a lift of spices and traditional plummy dark fruits. A fine cedar-y edge complements perfectly the sweet fruit flavours. And here's a wine that you'll find awfully difficult to put down. Drink to: 2026-2034; Price: $30.00; Rating: 95 Points; Ray Jordan
Bruised plum/dark cherry hue. The nose gives us aromas of chocolate, licorice, dry herbs, cassis, mulberries, mocha and fruitcake. And if that doesn't want to make you crack a bottle, I'm really not sure what will. Supple and smooth, there is good intensity here and very good length. The wine is well balanced throughout and finishes with fine tannins. For enjoying over the next ten to fifteen years. Drink to: 2026-2041; Price: $30.00; Rating: 93 Points; Ken Gargett
Medium bodied and calmed, revealing blueberries aromatics and a faint waft of flint and dry gravelly earth, similar textures following with a juicy and spicy plum cake flavour through the palate. It all fits together for a tasty treat of modern and timeless Shiraz. Drink to: 2026-2034; Price: $30.00; Rating: 93 Points; Tony Love
