Mountadam High Eden Chardonnay 2016
From the oldest plantings on the estate, fermented in French oak, matured for 12-14 months before a barrel selection for this wine, which is one of the best produced ex the Eden Valley as a whole. It has fluid grace and effortless power, the fruit flavours at the midpoint of the stone fruit (white peach)/citrus (grapefruit) spectrum. Lovely wine. Drink to: 2026;  Date Tasted: Jan 2018; Alcohol: 14%; Rating: 97 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion

Epic Negociants Margaret River Gneissic Rock Chardonnay 2018
Elegant and stylish, the inviting bouquet shows white flesh stone fruit, lemon peel, apple and vanilla characters with hints of cashew and brioche notes. It is concentrated and focused on the palate, delivering gorgeous weight and mouthfeel, backed by bright acidity. Restrained and persistent, this is promising to evolve gracefully. At its best: 2020 to 2028. Date Tasted: March 2019; Price: $30.00; Rating: 94 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit

First Creek Hunter Valley Chardonnay 2018
Early picking to retain natural acidity and freshness has worked. Special attention to the use of new French oak has also been impeccably handled, the theme continued with white-fleshed stone fruit and rock melon balanced by notes of citrus on the finish. Drink to: 2028; Price: $30.00; Date Tasted: July 2019; Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 94 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion

TarraWarra Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2018
An eclectic mix of clones, hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, 50% fermented in tank, 50% in oak of various sizes, forests and toasts, no mlf. Good mouthfeel; balance of stone fruits, apple and grapefruit; oak subtly balanced. Drink to: 2028; Price: $30.00; Date Tasted: Feb 2020; Alcohol: 13.2%; Rating: 95 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
