Seppelt has been at the forefront of Australian winemaking for over 160 years. From its humble beginnings in 1851, when Joseph Seppelt established Seppeltsfield in the Barossa, to today: renowned for producing elegant shiraz, table and sparkling wines from an exceptional collection of Victorian vineyards. Seppelt pioneered cool climate viticulture with the establishment of the Drumborg vineyard at Henty in 1964. The ground-breaking vineyard was planted with the express purpose of providing the highest quality Chardonnay.

Fermented in a mix of small and large barrels, few if any new, mlf likewise kept to a minimum. Fresh, light-bodied and juicy, the long-term history of this vineyard (and its satellite) leave no doubt the wine will flourish with time in bottle. For the record, the pH is 3.24 and its titratable acidity is 6.9g/l. Drink to: 2027; Price: $27.00; Date Tasted: Feb 2018; Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 93 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
