San Filippo was one of the original 20 growers that started bottling Brunello in the late 1970s. The arid property located in Northern Montalcino lies facing the famous Biondi Santi’s Il Greppo vineyard.  The house style is structured elegance with complex minerality and well-polished age worthy fruit.

The color is ruby red with a slight tendency to garnet. The nose is intense and complex, spicy, with dominant notes of Amarena cherry. The olfactory phase continues on the palate. The flavor is full, harmonious and persistent, with dense and silky tannins. "Sweet berry, cherry and floral aromas with some dried fruit as well. Hint of cedar. Full-bodied and chewy with lots of fruit, tannins and vanilla. Big and rich. But still fresh. Try after 2024. Rating: 92 Points; James Suckling
