Sami-Odi is a small winery in the Barossa Valley producing the smallest about of Syrah at the highest quality by winemaker Fraser McKinley. Grapes come from separate selected pots across the Barossa using organic principles and sometimes blending across barrels, sites, and vintages.

So aromatic, out there with its wild array of exotic spice, rose petals, pepper, tart cherry, sweet and bloody game meat with warm slate, violets, hazelnut and black plum fruitiness. The perfume is out of control good. The palate lithe and light, slinky with ribs of graphite-laced tannin, succulent through the finish and cooling overall. Elegance and command. Very exotic and perfumed, tea smoked duck, black fruit, coffee bean, lots of spice, and damp earthy things, and in a way, kind of like a lovely scotchy scotch. Mmmmm. Medium-bodied, but also quite slick and glycerol, light tannin grip presents as quite peppery, in the fruit profile, cherries mainly, dried raspberry, blueberry pie, again the exotic spice and the acidity sits really well inside the wine, and the finish is excellent, with something of a salty black olive flavour. Very distinctive wine and so lovely. It also has something of a coal dust mineral thing, which is so nice. Yum. Love it.
