The Reschke history and its close relationship with Coonawarra began in 1906 with the establishment of a prime Hereford stud in the heart of the region. It is this cattle grazing heritage that is reflected in the Reschke bull logo, and the names of the premium Reschke wines.

This rich and fruit-driven parcel of hand-selected Cabernet fruit presents hints of pepper spice on the fore with flavours of blackberry and cherry. The wine provides a full-bodied structure, silky tannins, and excellent varietal characteristics – for that lasting impression.

It's both developed and beautiful. The spread of tannin here is really quite something, matched as it is to leather, red berries, complex spice and undergrowth characters. This is what it's all about. Violet and tobacco characters add yet more to the show, as do subtle dark chocolate notes. This is pretty super. Drink to: 2024; Published: July 2023; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 95 Points & Special Value Star; Campbell Mattinson; James Halliday Wine Companion

Powerful and deeply flavoured, the wine shows dark fruit richness, bitter chocolate, bouquet garni and potpourri aromas on the nose, followed by a wonderfully weighty palate displaying excellent density and firm grip. Splendidly generous and hugely appealing. At its best: now to 2030; Price: $75.00; Rating: 96 Points; Wine Orbit
