Situated on the downward slopes of the highest hills of the Commune of Montespertoli, the territory lies to the south-west of Florence, in the area between two valleys Val di Pesa e Val d'Elsa; a chain of hills in an open and sunny countryside where cypress trees sway in the wind, ploughed fields lie close to woodland or alternate with vineyards and olive groves in a perfect harmony of space and colour.
Rich, almost liquorice scented, sweetness of cherry fruit, mint, suede, and a touch of balsamic. Medium-bodied, but rich and plump, sweet tannin, succulence and flavour, bright and so yum. A little ‘mineral’ feel too. Length is excellent. Flat out delicious. This is cracking value, and a wonderful drink. Yet another gem crafted by the brothers. 100% Sangiovese. Intense and complex bouquet with notes of anise, sour cherry, leather and iron. Excites the palate nicely on entry with the savoury dark and red fruit notes showing good middle palate intensity. The flavours are persistent, lively and coat the tannins throughout the persistent finish. A really sweet little winter warmer this one. Lovely drink and great value. Francis Wilden, Business Insider
