Hand-picked fruit from the southern part of Barossa, planted between 1991–1994. 5 parcels, 3 with partial whole-bunch fermentation; matured 14 months in mix of new and old French and American oak. The fragrant, exotic spice of century-old Barossa vines is something to behold, heightened magnificently by carefully gauged whole-bunch fermentation. Classy, polished dark chocolate oak sits just below the fruit at every moment throughout a finish of incredible persistence and undeviating line. Quite phenomenal. Drink to: 2032; Date Tasted: January 2021; Alcohol: 14.8%; Price: $70.00; Rating: 97 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
