Mystery Premium Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
A seamlessly crafted Margaret River cabernet where everything just sits together in perfect harmony. Floral notes mingle with substantial blackcurrant aromas. The palate is firmly structured with chalky tannins and plenty of oak from the mix of French and Hungarian. Yet it retains its elegance and refinement. Potential for extended ageing here. Drink to: 2024-2042; Price: $100.00; Rating: 95 Points; Ray Jordan
Mystery Ultra Premium McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023
Dark maroon hue for this superb McLaren Vale red. It is bright and bold, a fine example of warm climate Shiraz. Richly flavoured, it is chockful of notes of coffee beans, chocolate, licorice, florals, plums and blackberries. Good oak, still in the process of integration, but all is proceeding well. That said, this will be even better in twelve months. A plush texture, good intensity, serious length and fine tannins – everything is in place for a long life. Enjoy this over the next ten to fifteen years Date: Feb 2025; Price: $230.00; Drink by: 2025-2039; Rating: 94 Points; Ray Jordan
Mystery Super Premium Single Vineyard Coonawarra Shiraz 2016
Immensely complex and fragrant, the bouquet is filled with dark fruit richness, charcuterie, spicy oak and mocha characters, leading to a concentrated palate offering plush mouthfeel backed by bold tannins, finishing lingering and sturdy. At its best: now to 2033. Date: April 2023; Price: $120; Rating: 97 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
Mystery Super Premium McLaren Vale Shiraz 2017
Hand picked across a vineyard that is a century and a quarter old. The tannins here are increasingly refined and tautly furled by apposite extraction and long maturation in high-quality French oak. Violet lift. Further scents of blueberry, mulberry, clove, pepper grind and nori. The cedar and mocha-laden tension across the finish is this rich wine's totem. Oak, of course, but seamlessly handled, while auguring well for a long unravelling during extended time in the cellar. Drink to: 2032; Price: $153.00; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 95 Points; Ned Goodwin MW; James Halliday Wine Companion
Mystery Super Premium Coonawarra Shiraz Cabernet 2021
62/38% shiraz/cabernet. Fermented wild before spending 18 months in French oak, 40% new. Olives, herbs, blackcurrant and cedar. The flavours are one thing but it's the flow, the command, ands the authoritative push of the finish. This is top-shelf gear. Bacon-esque oak adds a final flourish to a beautifully pitched (and structured) red wine. Drink to: 2044; Date Tasted: February 2023; Alcohol: 14.5%; Price: $100.00; Rating: 96 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion
Mystery Premium McLaren Vale Shiraz 2003
Full-bodied but supple and long in the mouth; spice, dark chocolate and blackberry; fine tannins. Date: Oct 2004; Rating: 95 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion
