Longhop’s range of wines are produced by Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi, two mates that seized upon an opportunity in 2002 of salvaging some of the last remaining old vine vineyards in the Adelaide Plains and making distinct wines from that region.
The grapefruit characters are strong here. That's a good thing. There's plenty of thrust to this wine, it's almost piercing through the finish, but the wealth of flavour – citrus rind, steel, smoked nougat, grapefruit and yellow stonefruit – is both significant and impressive. At $28 this is out-of-the-box good. It's a definite-buy. Date Tasted: September 2025; Alcohol: 12.5%; Price: $28.00; Rating: 93+ Points; Campbell Mattinson; Wine Front
