A deep ruby wine with vibrant colour, full of ripe opulent dark plums and forest fruit aromas. An earthy note ties into the rich and complex oak structure. These flavours merge together on the palate and are guided by a generous serve of well-rounded tannins, allowing for the balanced palate to extend into a pleasantly lingering finish.
Highly perfumed. Lifted red fruits with a cedary earthiness. There is concentration and richness here with a perfect balance of oak, fruit and tannin. Love the highly energised palate with its layered mouthfeel. It almost presents as medium-bodied, but of course, there is a stack of deeply concentrated powerful fruit driving it. Lovely wine. Colour is a deep magenta, while the nose exhibits notes of coffee grinds, aniseed, blueberries, leather, smoked meats, deftly handled oak and cassis, with a hint of sour cherry evident on the finish. A bold style with focus, power, concentration, good intensity throughout and vibrant acidity. Very fine tannins and real length tie the package together. Love it. Drink to: 2025-2045; Price: $230.00; Rating: 96 Points; Ken Gargett
