The cool climate of Langhorne Creek typifies Australia at its finest. Heartland grows and selects grapes with the most flavour per acre through careful vineyard management and years of collective expertise. Winemaker Ben Glaetzer gives focus and expression to these flavours to give wines of intensity, texture and balance.
This is the most subtle and nuanced incarnation of this stand out wine to date. The delicacy of the 2016 vintage is showcased in this poised wine that still manages to express all the intensity we have come to expect from Directors’ Cut. Look for fresh fruit character to lead the charge and the targeted use of oak to offer perfectly balanced structure.
Iron fist in a velvet glove kinda stuff. A big Shiraz from Langhorne Creek. Generous is certainly the buzz word. It's a surge of fruit from top to toe. Dense plums and blackberries, whispers of smoke and vanilla, but dangerously smooth. Some tension evident and this will settle with more time in bottle or a good decant. It just lingers and calls you back. Beautiful! Drink now to ten years+ Rating: 93 Points; QWine
