Grippy and cool, this has presence and focus in the mouth. Structured and chiselled with a cooling minty fresh acidity that drives the wine. Excellently displayed and presented, not rich but there's ripeness to the blackcurrant and plum fruit as well as purity and accents of smoke and cedar. Acidity is high giving extra tension but this isn't too sour or sharp. Needs some more time in oak to soften the edges but this has elegance. 70% new oak. Tasted twice. Date: April 2025; Drink: 2029-2042; Rating: 93 Points; Decanter
Medium to full intensity inky plum colour, cold campfire and grilled cedar on the opening with vibrant plum fruits alongside, good quality, on the fresh side, but savoury and sappy with plenty of lift. 70% new oak for 17 months ageing. Date: April 2025; Drink: 2030-2044; Rating: 93 Points; Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux
