DUNE is a project from brothers Duncan and Peter Lloyd (Next generation Coriole) using fruit sourced from their vineyard in the Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale. It was born from Peter and Duncan’s desire to explore wines showcasing this vineyard's unique and interesting style, and varieties suited to the gently north-facing, late ripening site. The first DUNE wines were released in 2016 and the range has expanded to include a variety of blends and single varietal wines that are driven by a fresh, aromatic style that this vineyard delivers.

A mixture of whole bunches, whole berries and crushed fruit; matured in used oak for 12 months. Dense, deep purple-crimson hue. A full-bodied wine with all manner of dark, if not black, things. Black peppercorns, black licorice, dark chocolate, plum, cherry allsorts and leather old and new ... yet it doesn't taste full bodied, just complex and shapeshifting. Drink to: 2037; Price: $28.00; Alcohol: 14%; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday; Wine Companion
Rich, dark cherry, floral and ferrous, a mint and liquorice thing too. It’s fleshy, but more or less medium-bodied, meaty and ripe, all the silty Turkish coffee tannin, freshness too, blueberries and allspice, with thick tannin and a perfumed finish of excellent length. Excellent. Date: Nov 2022; Alcohol: 14%; Price: $28; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2022-2029+; Rated: 94 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
