The family uses traditional methods to work the vineyards and gentle techniques that respect the soil.
15% whole bunch vinification, no room for more. Glowing purple. At the moment there is quite a notable reduction on the nose. A bit of swirling helps. This is actually very stylish on the palate with a generosity of velvet raspberry fruit, not affected by the reduction on the nose, with impressive intensity, a little pepper and a crunchy finish. This could rate even a notch higher once the reduction clears. Date: Dec 2024; Drink from 2028-2033; Rating: 90-93 Points; Jasper Morris; Inside Burgundy
Slightly more evident wood influence surrounds the deeply pitched nose of black raspberry, earth and a hint of the sauvage. The round and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors are not especially dense but they do display focused power on the youthfully austere, dusty and compact finale. This needs to develop better depth so at least some cellaring is in order. Date: Jan 2025; Drink: 2030+; Issue: 97; Rating 88-91 Points; Allen Meadows; Burghound
