The new faces behind the Curtis Family Vineyards are Mark, Thomas & Jenna Curtis, with the guidance of their father, Claudio Curtis who lives on the vineyard just outside McLaren Vale. The name Curtis is thought to derive from Curtius, a noble and wealthy family of the First and Second Centuries AD, the Roman Empire era originating from the Latinium people. 

The Curtis Small Batch Pinot Noir Wine collection is all about creativity, precision, and innovation. These handcrafted wines are made in limited volumes, allowing our winemakers to experiment and perfect unique expressions. Each release captures something special – character, charm, and individuality in every drop.

The tannin profile of this Pinot Noir is quite something. This is firm and dry from the mid-palate onwards, though the freshness and energy of the fruit beneath is clear. This wine will need a bit of time but it could be something special at maturity. It tastes of boysenberry and plums, macerated cherries and woodsy spices. It's a serious wine. Opens with aromas that show a combination of dark cherry and strawberry with a subtle, earthy, mushroomy, truffle-like character. The palate has a firmish core to support the fleshy medium-weight fruit in a structure that nails the Pinot style.
